The Garden Gurus presenters have an extensive background in horticulture and now they are very excited to share their knowledge with viewers through the The Garden Gurus TV show, online Factsheets and Videos. Broadcasting Nationally, The Gurus Team have fantastic ideas, stories and celebrity gardeners to get you kick started into reclaiming your special sanctuary. All the segments seen on the show are created to help make gardening easy and enjoyable with all the information you need to create and maintain a successful garden.

Trevor Cochcrane

Trevor is possibly best known nationally as the host of the popular national gardening show, The Garden Gurus, which has been playing on Channel 9 since February 2002. He has been involved in the TV industry for over two decades, launching new programs and hosting and producing lifestyle shows for both Western Australian television and nationally for the Nine Network Australia and internationally where programs are seen in 141 countries.

In addition to The Garden Gurus and Destination WA, Trevor also presents and produces Explore TV, Delish Destinations, Delish and executive produces Our State on a Plate, all produced by his hand-picked talented team at his production company Guru Productions in Leederville, Western Australia.

When he is not traveling all over Australia and around the world for his travel programs, Trevor enjoys nothing more than gardening and relaxing on his hills property in Western Australia.

Bonnie-Marie Hibbs

Bonnie-Marie Hibbs is a qualified Horticulturist, working within the industry for the last 10 years and with Gardenworld Nursery as their leading seedling buyer and manager. She loves sharing her knowledge with others, always trying to inspire people to take their first step into gardening.

Bonnie-Marie dedicates a lot of her spare time to writing her online blog, "The Gardener's Notebook" which she established in 2012, creating videos in her garden where she shares her latest garden updates, DIYs and information, as well as being a passionate photographer who loves capturing the beauty of plants through a lens. Her writing has been published on garden blogs, Australian Plant Society, magazines and she's appeared on the 3AW radio program as a guest speaker on numerous occasions.

Nigel Ruck

Originally from Birmingham in England, Nigel Ruck moved to Australia in 1992.
Nigel started landscaping in 1990 working with fellow landscapers before establishing in 1996 his own landscaping and design business in Sydney.

He worked on Nine's Backyard Blitz program as the resident landscaper, has done stints of travel presenting on The Gurus Explore and is currently on Nine's The Garden Gurus as a landscape gardener.

Nigel enjoys the total transformation that landscaping can achieve and its different designs and innovative use of plants and materials.

Simon Holloway

Simon Holloway is the co-owner and Head of Community at Vegepod, a self-watering raised garden bed system designed to empower individuals worldwide to grow their own food, regardless of space or experience.

With a background in rural New South Wales and heritage rooted in Scottish, Irish, and English ancestry, Simon has dedicated himself to fostering community engagement and promoting sustainable gardening practices.

Through his work, he has expanded Vegepod's reach into 19 countries, impacting various sectors including aged care, disability services, and education. He also serves on the advisory board for Deadly Ed, an initiative supporting Indigenous youth education, and has collaborated with DineAlley Tours to guide culinary experiences in Tasmania.

Passionate about therapeutic horticulture, Simon believes in the healing power of gardening and its ability to connect individuals with nature and community. When not traveling or presenting, he enjoys cultivating his own garden in Tasmania, embracing the joys of growing and sharing food.

Neville Passmore

With over 47 years in the gardening industry, Neville Passmore is a passionate horticulturist and one of Western Australias most recognised gardening identities today.

Neville was born into a gardening family, the fourth generation West Australian living and producing plants and produce in Gosnells, WA. The son of Albert and Tess he grew up through the gardening industries renaissance as it evolved into one of the powerhouse retail sectors of the 1970’s. Neville’s work in plant production, gardening retailing, the garden media, with the public and contributing to student education is extensive and covers significant scope during his many years of working in the gardening industry.

Darren Seinor

Darren is the founder of Garden Solutions, a Perth-based landscape company dedicated to creating unique, sustainable, and inspiring gardens. With over 15 years of experience in the industry, Darren and his team handle residential and commercial projects from design through to construction and long-term maintenance, ensuring every garden thrives.

Passionate about building gardens from the ground up, he oversees comprehensive site preparation, soil improvement, hardscaping, waterwise irrigation, plant and turf selection, and mulching. Darren’s practical expertise and commitment to sustainable landscaping make him a trusted presenter for workshops, garden shows, and public events.

Brent Purtell

A mid-life career changer from high finance in London, Brent has successfully transitioned into horticulture, gaining international recognition along the way. Originally trained in the UK with the Royal Horticultural Society, my work has been honoured with multiple awards, including Bronze Medals from the RHS (2019), the International Green Space Award from the Australian Institute of Horticulture (2023) and a Gold Award from the Landscape Industry Association of Singapore (2024).

Previously the Head Gardener of the world’s highest edible garden, Brent now manages one of Australia’s largest private market gardens, supplying produce to leading Melbourne restaurants, Patsy's, Bistro Elba, and Bau Bau. Currently completing my Royal Horticultural Society Master's qualification, I bring a sharp eye for detail and a strong commitment to transforming outdoor spaces—visually, structurally, and horticulturally—into environments of lasting beauty and productivity"
